Sometimes, when text is copied from another word processing program, the Windows clipboard function brings over the text with formatting applied. This formatting can cause narratives to look strange, or even be invisible. For instance, if the text and background color is set to white, the narrative will not be visible unless highlighted, nor will it print on paper or .pdf.
To avoid this issue, make sure to right click and select "paste as plain text" instead of just paste when inserting text into JusticeONE. If you use keyboard shortcuts, paste as plain text is "CTRL-SHIFT-V" instead of "CTRL-V".
To change a narrative that has this strange formatting:
1. Open the narrative in JusticeONE RMS, right click in the text and click "select all" (or put your cursor in the narrative and use "CRTL-A".

2. Once all text is selected, click the font color tool in JusticeONE RMS.
3. In the font color tool, you have 3 options to create black text:
a. Set the value in each of the R:, G: and B: boxes to "0", OR;
b. Set the value in the #: box to "000000" (six zeros), OR;
c. Drag the white circle all the way to the bottom left corner of the color box.
4. Once you click "OK", the text should appear as black.
5. If the area around the text is an unacceptable color, you can use a similar method inside the highlight tool, which is located immediately to the right of the text color tool.
6. If you need to change a field or text to white, the appropriate values would be "255" in each of the R, G, B fields, "ffffff" (six f's), or move the circle to the top left.
7. You can select any other color using one of those three methods, just note that changing the base color requires moving the vertical slider to the base color prior to using the selector circle in the square color pallette.
