Adding a Violation Code in JusticeONE Admin Portal

To add a Violation Code to the JusticeONE Platform:

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to https://justice-one.us
  2. Login with administrator credentials. 
    1. If you do not have administrator credentials, please contact someone at your agency who can assist
  3. Navigate to "Admin Portal" in the left panel.

  4. Select: "Lookup Values - Records Lookups - Violations - Violation Codes - Add Violation Codes".

  5. The "Add Violation" window will appear.

  6. Fill in the values as follows:
    1. Violation Code: Input the code section, ordinance number, etc. of the new violation.
    2. NIBRS Code: Select the appropriate NIBRS code to be auto-populated when the violation is selected.  This can be left blank.
    3. Jurisdiction: Select the jurisdiction level of the code.
      1. If the violation is a state code, select "State".  If a city ordinance, select "City", County for a county ordinance, and so on.
    4. Type:  Select the appropriate violation type (Traffic, Misdemeanor, felony, etc.).
    5. Description: The title of the violation (i.e. Speeding, Theft by Shoplifting, etc.).
    6. Hwy Safety #: If this violation should be counted toward a State Highway Safety report, please select the appropriate line number.  This may also be left blank.
    7. Class: If the violation falls under any of the listed classes, select the appropriate one.  This may be left blank.
    8. Status: In order to use and allow other officers to use the violation code, make certain this is set to "Active".
      1. Selecting "Inactive" will make the violation un-selectable in the system.
    9. Mandatory Appearance: If your jurisdiction requires a mandatory court appearance for citations issued for this violation, select "yes".  Otherwise, select "No".
  7. Click "Save"
  8. Your violation Code should be available for use!
