If you're connected to a Windows Server machine using Remote Desktop and need to change your password, follow these simple steps:
Connect to the Server via RDP
Use your Remote Desktop app to log into the server as you normally would.
Open the Change Password Screen
Press the following keys at the same time:
Ctrl + Alt + End
Select âChange a passwordâ
A blue screen will appear with several options.
Click on Change a password.
Enter Your Information
You'll be prompted to enter:
Your current password
Your new password
Confirm your new password again
Click the Arrow or Press Enter
If all information is correct and your new password meets the complexity requirements, your password will be updated.
Success Message
You should receive a confirmation that your password was changed successfully.
Your new password must meet the serverâs complexity rules (typically at least 8 characters, with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, or symbols).
If you get an error, try a different password or reach out to your system administrator.
