Court Look Up Values

Court Look Up Values

This article will discuss the various lookup values you can modify to customize your Court experience.

General Lookups

The “People” category will be used to assign descriptions to Race, Gender, Ethnicity, and other “Person Codes” related to subjects. If your jurisdiction’s police department also uses JusticeONE® RMS, the “General Lookups” is shared.

Race, Gender, and Ethnicity: The preset code values are standard, follow NIBRS guidelines, and cannot be altered. The only value in “Race” that can be edited is “Hispanic” since it can be included in state citations.

Hair color, eyewear, eye color, facial hair, and hair type may not be required on all reporting forms, but they are recommended to be added when possible. These features can change but may be valuable for investigative purposes.

“Driver’s License Types” are standard and are prefilled.

The “Locations” tab contains sections related to addresses and locations for the user.

The “Address Type” section allows the user to add specific types of locations, such as “residential” or “business.”

The “Location Name" section allows the user to enter frequented locations. For example, places that experience a high volume of calls or precincts may be added.

The “County” section is where the user will add the county (or counties) for their jurisdiction. Other neighboring counties can also be added here.

If your agency has assigned service areas or zones, you can add them in the “Service Area/Zone” tab.

The streets within the jurisdiction must be added in the “Street Names” section. This data may be imported for prior customers as part of a data migration. As new roads, such as subdivisions or annexations, are added, new street names can be added here.

The “Vehicles” section contains the most recent attributes regarding vehicles. Most of the values are standardized for state accident reporting purposes. As new makes and models are released, users may need to add new information to the category.

The “Condition Codes” contain additional standardized values for state accident reporting. Further values can be added as needed, but existing values cannot be altered. Before adding values, please check with your state reporting agency, which is responsible for reporting to the NHTSA, National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration.

The last section of this category is “Default Agency/Officers.” This section contains all the users that have been entered.

Court Lookups

The “Court Lookups” section will contain numerous topics such as pleas, dispositions, violations/bond amounts, and other attributes.

The first section in the “Disposition Attributes” allows users to edit and add “Interim Status” for dispositions.

Users can also add “Pleas” with codes.

Users can edit and add “Findings” such as guilty, bond forfeiture, or nolle prosecution.

“Sentence Templates” can be edited and added. For example, “Pending Guilty” and the requirements provided, such as community service, can be added.

“Additional Conditions” can also be edited or added in this section.

Bond amounts can be preset in the “Violations/Cash bonds” section, and specific charges can be assigned.

Numerous elements can be adjusted when adding or editing, including bond amount and specific conversion actions.

In the “Charge Attributes” section, users can edit or add Hearing Type, Violation Type, and Check-in Status. Codes can be attributed to these types in this section.

The “Payment Attributes” section allows you to edit or add bonding Companies, Bond Types, Payment Methods, and other payment-related items.

The Codes can be added for quicker navigation when editing or adding a Bonding Company. Details about the Bonding Company, including contact information, can also be added.

The “Bond Type” in the next category can be edited or added to include a code.

The “Miscellaneous Payment Code” section allows you to edit or add any fees charged for services or documentation.

Codes can also be added to “Payment Methods.” Often-used methods have been added to the list. If your court accepts additional payments, that method can be added to this section.

Any additional payment or fee amounts can be added to the last category.

In the “Court Contacts” section, contact information can be added for Judges, Prosecutors, and other court-related contacts. Notes and an electronic signature can also be added to the contacts.

We recommend signing on white paper with a medium or thick black marker and scanning to a JPEG or PNG file to upload an electronic signature. The thicker line will render clearer when sized down to various signature blocks.

The “External Agency/Officers” section allows users to add outside assisting agencies, such as State Patrol Troopers or Sheriff’s Deputies, who may frequent your jurisdiction.

The contact information can be added to this section for future use or subpoena service.
